fire – as well as for such things as mold. In
fact there are companies that have pulled out of
the homeowner insurance business altogether –
at least in some states.
ICF
buildings can withstand much of the severe
weather and with no opportunity for mold to grow
within an ICF wall, many of the potential
insurance claim risks are avoided.
The
insurance industry is interested in the growth
of homes that have these qualities and has
devised a program to promote such building.
Insurance rates may favor such homes and
in some areas of the country, homeowner
insurance may not be available in the future on
homes that do not qualify under the program.
