Strong, Quiet, Energy Efficient, Affordable...

Most builders, architects, designers—and many savvy homebuyers—have heard of Insulating Concrete Form (ICF) technology.

And they often conclude this method is associated mainly with high-end, high-priced buildings.

However, the Phoenix Engineered Wall System reduces the cost to a level that makes ICF construction affordable to all of the housing and light commercial/industrial market.

ICF construction...is a method of creating exterior walls with expanded polystyrene forms or blocks, stacked together and filled onsite with concrete.

Building professionals and consumers know that ICF homes are:

While achieving a clean indoor environment, the virtually airtight nature of an ICF building also has major impacts on energy use.

Significant savings are experienced in an ICF home compared to traditionally built lumber homes. The mass of the concrete in the exterior ICF walls contributes to the energy efficiency, as heat transfer between the inside and outside of the wall is extremely low. Add to this the insulating effect of the interior and exterior polystyrene and a typical ICF wall's performance R-value is equivalent to a wood frame wall insulated to between R-38 to R-42.   Building that level of insulation in a wood frame wall would be cost prohibitive.
