The tie in a Phoenix ICF is made from excess pre- consumer recycled material used in 

another manufacturing process. Before Phoenix came along, this excess material had been dumped in landfills – now it’s put to excellent use in providing the strongest ICF tie of any brand. An ICF wall system contains no wood, and even the wood used in window bucks and framing, and door framing and doors can be eliminated in favor of vinyl and steel alternatives, so on average around ten trees worth of wood is avoided in this construction process.
